Today, I experimented with dough made from bread flour to make two creations - beignets and a pizza somewhere between pan pizza and focaccia. This blog focuses on the beignets. I made a salad with shrimp and added beignets rolled around in garlic butter. The outcome was a surprise: It literally tasted like shrimp scampi. The key, which I taught my husband, is to know how to combine the ingredients when eating it. By taking a corner of the super garlicky beignet and combining it with a piece of the shrimp, the result is shrimp scampi! It made a delightfully satisfying lunch.
I made a few sweet ones for dessert by rolling in butter and then cinnamon sugar - Divine!
Enjoy!
